Radix Weekly
Previously: a winding-up petition and unexplained treasury transfers darkened the room, while the DAO ratification vote and Hyperscale-as-upgrade debate took centre stage.
A bruising but busy week. It opened with a heated argument over flightofthefox and his community proposal, and an HMRC filing that raised fresh questions about former Foundation entities — but by Friday the mood lifted as Timan published a transparent hUSDC recovery list and XRD↔ETH trading quietly returned. Underneath it all, the community began asking itself how to stop the blame game and rebuild governance.
The Hyperscale funding fallout
Dezza and GENKIPOOL accused flightofthefox of breaking his community proposal by distancing Hyperscale from Radix and selling part of his grant. He pushed back that he can't be the network's sole hope, saying the best case is a group of people who 'want to clasp hands and do cool shit together'. No reconciliation was reached.
HMRC filing rattles the room
@Andy.XRD shared a UK court filing appearing to show HMRC seeking to wind up an entity over unpaid tax, while insisting the Foundation has not been selling XRD and that mitigation with market makers is underway. Tadkis separately explained the RDXW wind-down: assets stay with Holdings, and liquidator fears are unfounded.
RAC candidates walk away
Markus withdrew his candidacy for the permanent RAC, and Giles Morris said he's close to following, calling the 90-day ratification timeline too slow and offering a free financial review of the DAO under NDA. A worrying signal for the fledgling governance layer.
Gateway costs and missing strategy
projectShift warned the gateway is a costly hard dependency that could drain funds — no criticism of Shambu and Marek — while PinkRedDog and flightofthefox agreed a credible go-to-market plan is missing, even though scaling work matters regardless.
hUSDC recovery takes shape
Timan published a full overview of accounts eligible for recovery from the stuck ~442k hUSDC transaction, with open-source code anyone can rerun, and clarified it covers only that transaction. RocketX re-enabled XRD↔ETH trading; Hyperlane is expected back once recovery completes.
- Timan unregistered the DeXter validator and asked remaining stakers to move their 2.8M XRD.
- bigdev_xrd suggested posting paid promo-video tasks with acceptance criteria on radixguild.com.
- Vlad B proposed a SaaS model where developers bulk-buy XRD to cover user fees; √Mr. Peanutbutter warned it concentrates buying power.
- Vlad B argued the former entity's VASP license should have gone to the DAO; Prophet noted licenses can't simply be transferred.
Fended off accusations over his community proposal, said the network lacks a go-to-market plan and DeFi builders, and explained his simulation testing: nested finite state machines driven by a deterministic seed, with AI debugging the failures.
Posted the RAC's official update, clarified the council has no extra insight into Foundation assets, and flagged the gateway as an unsustainable cost the network must fix.
Said the Foundation is in constant talks with Hyperlane to recover stuck deposits, revealed a near-miss native USDC partnership, and pointed to market-maker mitigation protecting Foundation assets.
Bayesien explained the short window is only for testing; on mainnet it will be 48 hours, and the futarchy system uses a Time Weighted Average Price so nobody can spike the outcome at the final moment.
flightofthefox explained how he stress-tests Hyperscale: days of simulated network time run faster than real time with adversarial actors, the whole system modelled as finite state machines from a deterministic seed, and AI set loose on the bugs it finds.
The mood: A week that started raw and blame-heavy ended with cautious hope: transparent recovery work and returning trading routes are slowly rebuilding trust.
