Radix Weekly
Previously: the RDX buyout talks dragged, the RAC election field filled out, and the community braced for financial clarity.
A turbulent week that ended on a historic note: the DAO officially came into existence on Saturday. Before that, the rooms wrestled with a live exploit, an angry burn debate over RDXW's token bag, and stalls in Gary's buyout negotiations. The Hyperlane bridge's return and fresh hUSDC liquidity offered real bright spots.
The DAO is born
projectShift announced the formal establishment of the DAO on Saturday and linked the RAC's update post, urging everyone to read it properly. He was blunt that the job isn't done and hard financial decisions are coming, with cost answers promised in follow-up posts.
Burn the bag?
Anger over RDXW's untouched tokens boiled over into a temperature-check vote by Giles Morris that neared quorum at roughly 50/50. Vlad B, flightofthefox and Markus favoured validator-level blocking, burning or even a fork; Chikin and Gary urged exhausting the OTC deal first.
Gary's OTC rollercoaster
Gary reported negotiations with RDXH over their 1.4B XRD bag were 'not going well' early in the week, then improved after promising second talks — with another meeting set for Monday. He asked to be allowed to finish the job before anyone goes nuclear.
Old Ociswap pool exploited
Mike Nguyen warned of a flash-loan bug in the first version of Ociswap's Flex Pool, with about 1.1M XRD drained from the ASTRL pool. Florian Pieper confirmed only the old, rarely used package is affected — the current pools are safe, and anyone still in the old one should pull liquidity.
Hyperlane bridges back to life
LINUXX.xrd announced Hyperlane is back online on Astrolescent, allowing USDC, BTC, ETH and more to bridge across chains for a small fixed fee. Timan added DefiPlaza will likely deploy new hAsset pools within days, and avaunt spotted $400k of fresh hUSDC minted with the source unclear.
- The RadixPlanet validator was handed over to new operator vido.info on 27 October; stakers are unaffected, and √Mr. Peanutbutter 🇫🇷 is seeking a similar handover for one of his nodes.
- Markus explained he withdrew his RAC candidacy, preferring to work outside formal roles and possibly join a working group once the RDXH situation resolves.
- Azel shared a dashboard for anyone to track RDX Holdings' on-chain wallet movements, while Daffy speculated RDXH may be selling to market value to prove portfolio worth against HMRC's claims.
- Charlie and Adam re-argued who decided the Instabridge sale during the Metaverse Radix liquidation — Adam says he has no further information since leaving the Foundation.
Announced the DAO formally exists and shared the RAC's update post, while promising follow-up posts on monthly costs and warning that hard financial decisions lie ahead.
Argued the DAO has effectively zero runway since the token value exceeds its stables, and floated an 'irregular state change by validators' to remove RDXW's bags — while noting the DAO has no power over validators.
Confirmed he left the Foundation months ago but still helps where he can, and said Hyperlane and the Foundation have been working on releasing hUSDC to wallets.
Flagged $400k of hUSDC minted in a single day plus scattered smaller mints, with the wallet behind them still unidentified — possibly linked to recovery efforts.
The role's boundaries are set out in the Charter and Operating Agreement; essentially it needs someone who wants to support Radix and do what's needed, not a formal executive CV.
Tâm trạng: Raw and turbulent, but ending proud — the DAO's birth was celebrated while anger over RDXW's tokens and thin treasury runway dominated the weekend.
